This project was noteworthy as representing the first Telemedicine Symposium in East Africa. It consisted of a weeklong series of lectures and hands on applications focused on the relationship between computer hardware, software, telecommunications technologies, and remote healthcare delivery . TelePathology and Mobile Healthcare Solutions were the focus of the Telemedicine lectures. Laparoscopic surgery instructions also took place at St. Francis Hospital in Kampala.
