Thai Massage is based on ancient therapeutic procedures which focus on the use of gentle stretching and manipulating of energy lines known as "Sen". It has been used for over 2500 years by the indigenous people of Siam as a healing method, and is loosely based on Ayurvedic Chinese healing and traditional yoga. The origins of Thai Massage are believed to be with the practices of Jivaka Komarbhacca, who is fondly referred to as the "Father Doctor". Despite an ancient origin, it is still found in Buddhist temples, but is more commonly seen today in Thai Massage centers and institutes.
